Before we get started, we need to prep your face and create a flawless base from which to work. Simply quench your skin’s thirst with a hydrating moisturizer and then apply your usual primer, foundation, blush, and a little highlighter to get your perfectly prepped canvas ready. Now we can move on to your eyes...
STEP 1: PRIORIT-EYES PRIMING
Prepping your eyelids with an eyeshadow base will help keep your eyeshadow in place and minimize fading and creasing. We used Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Primer in this tutorial. Using its cotton bud applicator, apply it directly to your lids and blend it evenly with your fingers or a damp sponge. Be patient before heading to the next step as it will take about a minute to dry, but if you want to speed up the process, give your lids a light dusting of Invisimatte Blotting Powder to dry the primer even faster.
STEP 2: CREATE A CREASE THAT WON’T CEASE
Using your Sephora Collection Pro Blending Brush #27, apply the WALL ART shade from the Tarteist™ PRO REMIX palette to the crease of your lid. Then, with the same brush apply the INK shade, using gentle brushstrokes to bring definition into the outer corner of your eye.
STEP 3: KILLER CUT CREASE
If you’ve never heard of a cut crease before, prepare for a quick beauty 101 on this irresistible, yet easy to master, trend. The cut crease technique delivers a bold, dramatic look and is achieved by using contrasting shades concentrated in the crease of the eye. To continue carving out the cut crease, use the primer from Step 1 and a thin, flat brush for extra precision to create a line at your crease, just below the shadow you worked into the crease in Step 2. Fill in the lid with the primer from the corner to about halfway towards the outside of the eye. Effectively, what you’ve done is primed a blank canvas for the color that’s coming up in the next step. This will help create a deep contrast between the shades.
STEP 4: CALL FOR COLOR
With the SC Pro Small Shadow Brush #15, apply the ARTIST shade and add dimension at the center of the lid with the ART DECO shade. Blend to unify the shadows to create an eye-popping impact.
STEP 5: LINE UP FOR BEAUTY
Draw a line along your upper lash line using Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper Black by gliding the brush as close to the roots as possible. For best results, wipe the brush tip with a damp tissue before applying to prevent build-up, which may cause your Tattoo Liner to dry out. Then, apply Tarte Tarteist™ Double Take Eyeliner to the waterline. Finally, brush a little shadow in INK and COLOR EXPLOSION on the bottom lash line.
STEP 6: LASHES FOR MILES
Sephora Collection Outrageous Extension Mascara delivers an extreme volumizing effect for all of your eye looks, which is why it's a MUA and customer favorite! Simply place the brush at the base of the lashes and use a slight zigzag motion to work the mascara out from root to tip. This separates your lashes and helps keep them clump-free while you load them up with product. Layer on as much as you like – just remember to let the mascara dry between coats. And if you want more extreme volume length, apply it on the topside of your lashes, too. Get a little mascara where it doesn’t belong? Don’t panic. Just let it dry and then use a clean brush or a small sponge to gently rub in the product. You might need to use a cotton swab with a little cleanser to dab it away if it’s proving particularly hard to remove.
STEP 7: GO NUDE
When you’ve got an eye look that’s as bold as this one, it’s often best to go for a subtle lip. After moisturizing your lips with a nourishing balm, apply Sephora Collection Rouge Gel Lip Liner #02 Nothin’ but Nude to the outer contour first and then use it to fill in the entire lip. This will create an excellent base for the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain #66 Skin Deep and will help your lip look last longer.
